On the recent police brutality in Iran...

As we all watched the horrific pictures and video-clips of the terrorist Islamic Republic's security forces beating up innocent Iranian youth under the pretext of them being "criminals and troublemakers" I think it was pretty clear from the beginning that not all of these people were what the Islamist regime wanted us to believe - now this is being confirmed with the case of Pourya and Pouya Fazlollahi; two distinguished and respected young Iranian sportsmen whose crimes were not being "rapists, criminals, or troublemakers", as was the official charge of the occupational Islamic Republic, but for exercising their inherent human rights of freedom of speech and expression which are both suppressed in Iran. Both brothers had been caught spreading flyers of Iranian King de jure Cyrus Reza Pahlavi, son of HIM Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who has been living in exile since the Islamists took over the country in 1979 leading to the brutal treatment which they received.

Harassment of Iranian women by Islamists

For 28 years Iranian men and women have had to suffer under a brutal anti-Iranian Islamist regime which has tried to replace their national and cultural identity with a foreign backward Islamic one. I would not be exaggerating when I say that Iranian men have not even experienced a fraction of what Iranian women have had to endure under this savage regime.

Thanks to technological advancements we are today able to document and instantly spread the atrocities of this inhumane regime across the world through the internet. In light of the previous photos that I have posted on here in the past few weeks, here is yet another photo where you can see an Iranian woman that is being harrassed by the occupying Islamist regime's security forces; if you are acquainted with the politics of this backwards Islamist regime you would not be surprised if the girl is charged with acting against national security for having taken off her imposed Islamic scarf! The plainclothes Islamist agent is arguing with the mother of this Iranian girl whilst you can see the other Islamist animal (Revolutionary Guard/"Pasdar") who with a club and a disgusted face is approaching the Iranian girl who is visibly upset and trying to walk away.

All we can do in free societies is to highlight and support these innocent victims of Islamic tyranny by all means available to us.

Mullah Khatami condemned during Norwegian visit

On his recent visit to Norway the former terrorist President of the Islamic Republic, Mullah Mohammad Khatami, received a strong condemnation for his regime's human rights violations. Another Mullah, which was part of Khatami's terrorist lobby-delegation, was grilled by a Norwegian journalist on human rights and democracy in Iran to which the Mullah replied "we have Islamic democracy and human rights in Iran which is different to the western kind" with a smirk on his face; when further probed on the issue the mullah excuses himself and leaves not to further loose face.

Islamist police shoot to kill in Tabriz!

I'd like to bring yet another heinous crime of the terrorist Islamic Republic occupying Iran to your attention and underscore that these atrocities occur on a daily bases, yet nothing is ever mentioned by the main-stream-media who prefer a game of deception in trying to portray "moderate/reformist elements" in a regime which knows nothing about being moderate. This anti-Iranian Islamist regime cannot even hold a civilized dialouge with the people it (illegitimately) rules over yet pursues a "Dialouge amongst Civilizations" through the United Nations with European countries who are more than happy to pursue such farcical processes which only end up in lucrative trade agreements in their favour!!!!

A few days ago, in the north-western city of Tabriz, two Iranian boys were confronted by an Islamic morality security guard of the Islamic regime over "un-Islamic" music that the boys were listening to in their car. In pure Taliban fashion the Islamic morality police ends up shooting one of the boys and arresting the other - the wounded boy who lost a lot of blood, sustained from his wounds, is in critical condition and hospitalized. These are some very disturbing pictures especially knowing the bizarre situation which led to these Islamist animals shooting an Iranian boy! Please give international coverage to this horrific event!

Also yesterday I watched a VOA program in which a certain Mr Pourzal from an IRI lobbyist group called CASMII (Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran) appeared as a panel member on the daily roundtable programme. This shameless person proceeded in questioning the moderator (Mr Farhoodi) why VOA does not cover police brutality in Turkey as a means of justifying the recent intensified repression in Iran by the Islamic Republic when asked about that topic!! This shameless individual proceeded to condemn the late modern and progressive government of the late Shah of Iran and claimed that the terrorist Islamic Republic is a much more democratic and better place than the former!! The lies of this terrorist lobbyist are too numerous and outrageous to be listed in one entry but I simply want to highlight that such individuals and "anti-war groups" are trying hard to influence public opinion and white wash the Mullah's savage atrocities!

Release Babak Zamanian!

The arrest of Iranian student leader Babak Zamanian, whose case I highlighted in THIS previous entry, caused his fellow students at Amir Kabir University (Tehran Polytechnic) to protest in demand of his release today but were met by the terrorist Islamic Republic's mercenary forces consisting of Revolutionary Guards and the Basij thugs. Several students sustained injuries by the Islamists who attacked them with knives and clubs and have been hospitalized.

Iranian Student Leader Arrested - Babak Zamanian

Just a note to my non-Iranian readers: Based on my limited knowledge on the bureaucratic system in existence in Iran - anyone wanting to set up a university association in Iran under the Islamists must describe their association as "Muslim Students Association at...." in order to get the seal of approval by the authorities - this however has nothing to do with the personal/religious nor political beliefs of the students that belong to these groups. As an excellent example, the below student's association from Tehran's Polytechnic has nothing to do with Islam and has always served as a venue where students can voice their rejection of the system through various means.

The Islamic Republic has its own official student groups like the Basij or Ansar-Hezbollah whose members are either brainwashed dirt-poor Iranian villagers or non-Iranians; like Arabs from Lebanon/Palestine or Afghans. These groups are used to tarnish the image of Iranian students with foreign news agencies usually describing these animals as "Iranian students" when they bus in 100-200 of themselves to hold anti-western demonstrations.

Iran: Student Spokesman Arrested

Tehran -- The spokesman of the Muslim Students Association at a Tehran polytechnic was arrested on Wednesday, Iranian news agency ILNA reports. Babak Zamanian was reportedly arrested because of interviews he gave to Farsi language radio stations that broadcast outside Iran. The students of the Amir Kabir Polytechnic made front page news around the world last December when they managed to prevent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on a visit to their campus, from making his speech. It was the first time since his landslide victory in June 2005 that Ahmadinejad had been challenged in public.

Dozens of protesters burned pictures of the Iranian president crying 'dictator go away', 'death to dictatorship' and threw firecrackers, forcing him to interrupt several times a speech and leave before scheduled.

"The direction of the university had been warned we didn't want Ahmadinejad here," Mehdi Hatefi, an activist with students' group Tahkim Vahdat told Adnkronos International (AKI) at the time, saying the organisers had tried to fill up the lecture hall with people from other universities.

Dear Aryamehr,

I met your blog several months ago. I found it very insightful. I am glad that the Iranian emigrants still retain their love for the country and struggle to help it.

When I was a child, I remember listening to the British and American broadcasts from the free world. At that time, former Czechoslovakia was still communist, and we would gather by the radio each evening and listen to the news, hoping that one day, the beast that clutches our nation will roll over and die. And it happened, though not too easily. So I believe that Iran will have the same fate, though its tyrants are probably more aggressive than ours were.

I definitely share your opinion that the Satanic Republic is a tragedy of our times. To see such a wonderful country as Iran, with its immense history and cultural heritage, being drowned in swamp of fanatic Islamic theocracy, is a horrible sight. Just today I was reading a photographic book documenting the highlights of the ancient Iranian architecture and art, and I couldn't help myself feeling angry at the nomads from the desert, who overran the empire of the Sassanids and brought the Zoroastrian culture to a slow, deadly decline.

I wish I live to see the day when the ancient peacock throne is occupied again by someone like Cyrus the Great, who will bring again the light of justice to the country, and who will be admired by the nations of the world - and not feared and loathed as the mullahs and their savage sidekicks are.

Too many people forgot that Iran was once a great civilized country with wealth, wisdom and a humane religion. Much will have to be done to improve now blackened Iran's reputation, when the mullahs are finally dumped to the dustbin of history, where they belong. But I am confident that people like you will achieve that.

How to Topple the Mullahs

For now, the nutty recommendation of the Baker-Hamilton Iraq Study Group that the United States should engage in direct talks with Syria and Iran appears to have been mooted by events on the ground.

U.S. military forces have caught Iran red-handed – twice – over the past few weeks in Iraq, No one can possibly doubt any longer what I and many others have been saying for some time: that Iran is involved on the ground in Iraq and is aiding both Sunni and Shia insurgents in an effort to blow that country apart.

But like all bad ideas in Washington, rest assured that the Baker-Hamilton recommendation of direct talks will come back. Study group members can be counted upon to argue that the capture of top Iranian Revolutionary Guards and intelligence officials in Iraq only proves their point that Iran has real influence and thus must be dealt with directly, to prevent them from playing the spoiler’s role.

And by the way, they will argue, what’s the alternative? Nuke Iran?

It is regrettable and truly astonishing that President Bush has not applied to Iran and to Syria the same global vision he has so eloquently displayed in regards to Iraq and other fronts in the global war against the Islamic jihad. Because there is a clear alternative to the capitulation offered by Baker, Hamilton, and their advisors.

Instead of rewarding these regimes, the United States should use its tremendous resources to contain Syria and to undermine the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Such a policy is not far-fetched, nor is it based solely on ideology, although compelling moral arguments can be made in its favor. Instead, it serves the national and historic interests of the United States.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, however, is made of different stuff. This is a regime that over the past twenty-seven years has been willing to pay a tremendously high price in blood and treasure to pursue its radical policies. Since the 1979 revolution, the United States has repeatedly attempted to “influence the behavior” of the regime, without success.

As I wrote in these pages just last month, the Baker-Hamilton proposal is a warmed rehash of the same failed policy we’ve been trying since 1979.

There is only one approach that will get the attention of the Tehran’s revolutionary and clerical leaders; and this is the one approach that Baker and Hamilton – and the foreign policy Establishment - have rejected: support for regime change.

This is the one approach that the United States and its allies have never tried. Short of an all-out U.S. military assault on Iran, it is the only approach that can avoid a future Persian Gulf region dominated by a radical Iranian regime armed with nuclear weapons. Saying pretty-please, as the Baker-Hamilton group proposed, just isn’t going to work.

Empowering Iranians to change their regime will be costly. From having worked with opponents to the Iranian regime over the past twenty years, and studied the requirements of opposition groups currently working inside Iran, I believe the United States should be prepared to commit a minimum of $300 million over an initial six month period if we are to have any hope of a successful outcome.

The very first step must be the appointment by the President of a Special Envoy for Iran, with full presidential authority to convene a loya jirga type meeting of several hundred prominent Iranian leaders. The majority of those able to attend such a meeting will of necessity come from the diaspora; some will come secretly from the inside.

That meeting should focus on establishing a broad declaration of principles around which the various opposition factions can unite, and then electing an executive committee that will include authorized spokespersons for the pro-freedom movement. (Much of the ground work for such a broad meeting of Iranians has already been accomplished over the past two years, thanks to the Iranians themselves).

Over the next six months, the following tasks must be accomplished:

• Drafting a detailed game plane for organizing massive non-violent protests against the regime in Tehran. This game plan must include strategies for neutralizing the Revolutionary Guards, the bassij corps, and paramilitary gangs loyal to extremists in the current regime, and for preventing the Islamic-Marxist Mujahedin Khalq, which worked with the regime during the early years of the revolution, from exploiting the situation and seizing power in a putsch. It must also include a strategy for providing financial support to striking workers and professionals;

• Specific policy recommendations for the United States and our allies, so we can best leverage tools available to governments and international organizations for delegitimizing and destabilizing the Tehran regime. (The U.S. Department of the Treasury has made a modest start here).

• Identify, contact, and train key operations officers on the ground in Iran;

• Identify and pre-position secure communications and other equipment needed to coordinate operations inside Iran; and

• Establish a finance committee tasked with harnessing the tremendous resources of the Iranian diaspora, who have withheld major support to the pro-freedom movement because they rightly judged that the movement lacked U.S. support.

Broadcasting must be an integral part of any comprehensive political plan to challenge the legitimacy of the Iranian regime and promote non-violent regime change. However, none of the $300 million fund should go to expanding the Persian language service of Voice of America or Radio Farda, the Persian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Both have failed utterly to live up to the goal for which they were established.

Rather than communicate an American viewpoint during Iran’s proxy war against Israel this past summer, for example, VOA television sent reporters to Beirut to interview top Hezbollah leaders – the same Hezbollah leaders Iranian state television was treating as rock stars.

As for Radio Farda (“Tomorrow”), established to be a “surrogate” for the free media Iranians could not access inside their own country, it became a laughing stock by championing Iran’s failed reformist president, Mohammad Khatami.

Since Ahmadinejad took over as president in 2005, Radio Farda has adopted the “music-first” model of Westwood One and become simply irrelevant. Both are a waste of U.S. taxpayer dollars and should be downsized or eliminated altogether.

Instead, funding should be provided to private Iranian broadcasters who understand the political thirst of their compatriots and know how to package a compelling message in a professional format. The allotment of the broadcasting budget should be determined by the Executive Committee, with a preference to pluralism and professionalism.

The U.S. intelligence community can play a support role in this effort, but should not take the lead. The last thing we need is to ask the Central Intelligence Agency to organize the Iranian opposition.

On the contrary, much of this program can – and must – be accomplished overtly. Having the President of the United States openly support the aspirations of the Iranian people, at the same time devoting $300 million to back the effort, will have a tremendous impact on pro-democracy forces inside Iran, without yet putting lives at risk.

At the end of the initial six month period, the President can then decide if he believes the program is viable. If so, he can pull the trigger on the plan devised by the pro-freedom groups in coordination with his Special Envoy. The U.S. will need to commit another $500 million or so to the effort of organizing and supporting the massive non-violent protest movement throughout Iran. This will be supplemented by another $500 million or more raised from the Iranian diaspora.

This is expensive, for sure. But it is far less costly than the alternatives of facing a nuclear-armed Iran, or having to send in U.S. troops to prevent Iran from deploying or firing nuclear weapons.

The Baker-Hamilton approach of engaging the terror-masters brings great risks and few rewards. It sends a clear message that terrorism, even conducted against the world’s sole superpower, is a strategy that works. Engagement with Iran and Syria will foster more terror, not curtail it.

Furthermore, engaging regimes that systematically repress their own people and seek to destroy a bold democratic experiment on their borders, sends a clear message to pro-democracy forces inside those countries that their efforts can never succeed.

In one simple stroke, the Baker-Hamilton approach will have emboldened our enemies, and deterred our potential allies. And yet, for reasons that only the chattering classes can explain, this goes by the name “realism.”

Supporting regime change by Iranians, while containing Syria, not only makes the best strategic sense for America. It is the right thing to do.

Are the French abandoning their Islamists partners in crime?!

Lets hope that these latest positive moves (see below links) signal a wider move by the French government to drop their support of the terrorists oppressing the Iranian people and spreading fear across the world>>> Mullah's! No matter what the French do, they should have in mind that Iranians have very long memories!

Consider this a WARNING to the French government. It would be in the interest of the French government to the soonest possible give up their support of one of the world's most notorious dictatorships, that oppresses and systematically executes/kills innocent Iranians and foreigners alike through its own official forces or through terrorist proxies across the world.
