Campus clashes erupt in Iran - Students vs Islamist Forces

PJM Tehran: Reports of a series of clashes between university students and paramilitary forces outside Tehran are emerging writes PJM’s Ardeshir Arian, who is in regular communication with PJM’s Tehran correspondent.

Concentrated clashes took place yesterday between Allameh University students and the Basij paramilitary forces at the communications campus of Allameh Taba-tabaee University west of the city of Tehran.

According to sources inside the university, the unrest has not settled yet and the regime’s IRGC armored division has surrounded the campus by placing armored vehicles all around the troubled building.

Students chanting “Death to the Dictator” could be heard from a distance away. In some instance, local residents have came out in support of the students and against the regime forces.

On Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 the security forces arrested about twenty students from the same college, for protesting against the Islamic government actions against students.

All but three of the students arrested were released after signing prearranged repentance expressing remorse and agreeing to forfeit their civil rights if they reoffend.

Three of these students have refused to sign such documents which could turn into their legal death sentences if framed or arrested by the government agents again.

For that reason and other unspoken interests, the Ministry of Intelligence ordered the three students to be transferred to one of their undisclosed locations - presumably for interrogation and torture designed to break their spirits.

Tehran University students "Death to Dicator" ref. AhmadiNejad

On October 8 this week Mahmoud AhmadiNejad the President of the occupational Islamic Republic arrived at Tehran University were he was scheduled to give a speech. Heavy security and screening processes was in place to ensure that the few students allowed into the auditorium were regime-loyalists or basiji (a paramilitary organization consisting mainly of young disenchanted/indoctrinated villagers) so that no disruptions or complications need take place during the speech; knowing full well that if Iranian students were allowed into the auditorium there would not only be a security risk towards the Islamic Republic's president but also the fact that students would be able to pose obviously relevant questions which the regime to date has not been ready to answer (regarding the non-existence of freedom and democracy in Iran etc).

Under the heavy presence of the terrorist Islamic Republic's armed security forces hundreds if not up to a thousand of Tehran University students were showcasing their public rejection of the illegal/occupational Islamic regime and its President Mahmoud AhmadiNejad within the university premises - the students were not allowed to leave the University premises but were locked onto campus. As Potkin says in his entry - the university was under a military siege as AhamdiNejad addressed his supporters.

Some of the chants, slogans, and poster's by the Iranian students were:

"Death to Dictator", "Free imprisoned students", "We have questions too, Why only Columbia?" , "Here is Columbia too", "In Columbia yes, in Tehran no?", "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad source of poverty and corruption", "Freedom is our definite right", "Fashist government should be destroyed", "Shame on the regime leave the university", "student torture is condemned". "we don't want dictator regime, we don't want mercenary police", "political prisoners must be freed", "shame on police, leave the university", "Fashist president, university is not your place".

The importance of this event was once again forgotten of or given minimalist attention to by the western media outlets who even then downplayed the size of the demonstration to a "handful" or "around 100". Again let the videos and pictures of the event tell the true story for all to see:

Call for protest on Friday July 13th/ 22 Tir - 6 PM - Engelab Square - Tehran

The Committee of Iran’s National Struggle is calling for a peaceful gathering of the public to protest against petrol rationing. This protest will take place on Friday 22 Tir (July 6) at 6pm, Enghelab Square in Tehran. The Committee has already distributed more than 5 thousand leaflets throughout Tehran and other provinces to announce the news about the mentioned gathering/protest and intends to distribute more.

Also July 9th which marked the student uprising at Tehran University was marked this year although with lower numbers due to the overwhelming presence of the occupational regime's suppressive forces - those who had gathered outside the university gates were swiftly arrested by the Islamic Republic's security forces and transferred to prisons where they will be tortured and interrogated and if not killed be forced to confess to some untrue charges that the Islamic Republic will charge them with.

The Islamic occupational regime has imprisoned countless numbers of Iranian students because they have dared to voice their utter contempt of the suffocating and repressive atmosphere prevalent in the country, which has been created by the Islamist Occupational regime and which has been ongoing for 28 long years now. Iranian students warn AhmadiNejad and the Islamist establishment that they cannot stop them!

"Aghaye Ahmadinejad! Ma tormoze ghatare jonbeshe daneshjooyi ra kandeim!

Iranian students have been holding protests against the illegal detentions of tens of their fellow students, apprehended by Islamist security forces on charges relating to "endangering national security"!

The above placard reads: "Mr AhmadiNejad! We have torn off the brakes of the students movements' train!". This is in reply to the occupying Islamic Republic's statements that "the regime's nuclear technology progress is like a train whose brakes have been removed"!

It's a very tense time in Iran with workers, students, academics... being arrested on charges of "endangering national security" and things will only get tenser from here on. Next month is the anniversary of the savage and unprecedented attack on Tehran University students (July 9, 1999) who were attacked in their sleep by club/knife wielding Islamists of the state apparatus, leading to several deaths! This event sparked the largest anti-regime demonstrations ever experienced in the 28 year long Islamist occupation and has been marked each year with demonstrations by student-activists.

In this clip which I can only at this time presume been recorded on a university campus in Iran (date unknown) you can hear students chanting: "UNITY! UNITY! FREEDOM! FREEDOM! SUPPORT US! SUPPORT US!", you can see that the atmosphere is very tense and a fight erupts between Iranian students and Islamist thugs - the body of an individual is seen being carried away by a group of people.



As soon as I get more information regarding this clip I'll post it on here. Again please give exposure to these documents and evidence that testify to the growing and intensifying democracy-movement in Iran which is becoming more and more determined in its aim to remove this occupational Islamist dictatorship and bringing freedom to Iran.

As human beings we all need to support these students who are standing up against Islamic tyranny, whether we are Iranian or not!

Protests against intensified repression on Iranian society by Islamists!

In this video a student at Tehran University bravely begins shouting slogans against the oppressive Islamic Republic as a crowd gathers to hear him out. In a clear act of PROTEST the student proceeds to take off his jacket, shirt, and is about to take off his t-shirt when an "Islamic Morality Guard" (who are assigned to every university) approaches the student and tries to haul him away. The students who have gathered around begin chanting "let him go, let him go". This student will most likely get lashed and fined for his actions if not also imprisoned - he might even be charged with "threatening national security" by Islamists who would see such an act as "heretical" against Islamic values.

Iranian people are fed up with this foreign Arab ideology which has enslaved them and held them back for 1400 years. Many foreigners do not understand that Iranians have become staunchly anti-Islamic thanks to Iranian scholars who have exposed Islam for the violent, brutal, oppressive, and regressive ideology which it is. Iranians are slowly beginning to turn to their true roots before the brutal Arabo-Muslim invasion which imposed Islam on Iranian society.

A British University is ONCE AGAIN about to host an event for a lobbyist of the Islamic Republic. The shameless supporter of the terrorist Islamic Republic in Iran, by the name of Abbas Edalat, is posed to speak on the Mullah's Nuclear programme at Trinity College in Cambridge (UK) which GUARANTEED will be a bid to legitimize the Islamists' efforts! The groups who will capitalize on this will be the criminal "liberal" factions - ranging from the "anti-war groups" who pay no attention to the human rights abuses in Iran to those who promote "dialouge" with a regime which cannot even hold a dialouge with the people it rules over!

Enlightened People of Iran,

The cries that you heard several weeks ago from the Amir Kabir Polytechnic university was neither the voice of the members of various political parties, nor the voices of those who would have supposedly been deceived by the United States of America and Zionists. They were the cries of your children; students seeking freedom and equality at the Polytechnic; raised-up cries for many years of tolerating oppression, cruelty, horror and suffocation at the hands of those autocrats ruling over this land.

Our cries are the echoes of poverty, corruption and discrimination which has run deep roots in our society and has driven the most pure individuals of our land to prostitution, leaving no other choice for the most responsible ones other than to flee the country all together.

Poverty, corruption and discrimination which has been forced upon the honest workers, employees, teachers, women and men of the land has become the basis of all enmity and unrest in our daily lives. How is it possible that in a country where the pages of newspapers that daily become darker and darker with despair, suicide and drug addiction, one can live a calm and uncomplicated life?

Our cries are not the voices of justice-seekers and hate mongering students…students who these days are even deprived of the right to an education. They are sent to prison and die as a result of hunger strike in prison and are shamelessly attacked, ridiculed and insulted by Ahmadinejad and his supporters.

We protest the suppression of the wokers’ protests; workers who have not received their wages for months on end and due to unjust policies of the totalitarian rule, they are fired from their jobs.

We protest the discriminatory laws against women and brutal suppression of peaceful protests for them to obtain the minimum human rights. We stand against the captivity of the critics [of the regime], political protesters and the banning of publications in our country.

Political suppression which in the absence of opposition, facilitates the autocrats - who absolutely distort and obfuscate – dare to pass off their vainglory under the guise of the absolute rights of the Iranian people.

At Amir Kabir University Ahmadinejad speaks of an increase of non-oil exports. Our question is how does one justify an increase in non-oil exports when Iran’s economy is 70% dependent on Iran’s oil?

Mr. Ahmadinejad speaks of the decrease in imports; can one call the growth index of $40 billion a reduction in imports?

We have the right to ask the president and even holler at him to explain what exactly happened to all those promises and slogans? Where is that oil money that was promised to the citizens? Who are those who make up the power and wealth mafia? Will they ever be actually identified? Why is it that the news of all the trips Ahmadinejad takes to various provinces get wide coverage by Islamic regime’s radio and television but the closure of factories and fired workers, teachers and intellectuals who have the responsibility of educating the future generations completely blocked out. Is this not demagoguery?

We have the right to holler at Ahmadinejad to answer why the ministry of science is granted the right to assign stars to students*, prohibiting them from entering onto university campuses. Do the heavy verdicts imposed by the disciplinary committees on the student activists, not mean enmity and hatred? How can university officials and authorities of the ministry of science allow university students such as Ali Azizi, Abbass Hakimzadeh and Majid Tavakoli be prohibited from entering into the university?

They have left no psychological tranquility for the students. In a totally illegal move, the scholastic file of students is closed. They send threat messages to our families. In a totally vicious move they destroy the student assembly building, the members’ property and personal information is confiscated. They turn the university into a war zone and put students under constant intelligence/military surveillance. Are we then the ones who cause tension in the university environment?

They even fear the enclosed university environment where information flows freely. With all the arrest and restrictions on publishing students’ periodicals, how can Ahmadinejad claim that he accepts the voice of opposition?

How did Ahmadinejad dare to accuse university students of being lackeys of the U.S. or Zionists? What documentation can he produce as a proof of such an accusation?

We students will not tolerate such talk; for this reason we demand the full and uncensored broadcast of the film footage of Ahmadinejad’s speech at our university via the so-called national media so that the world can judge for itself who the real enemies of the people are and who the foreign agents are.

Indeed, we have decided to take our futures into our own hands.

* Stars are being given to students for punishment. "Students with stars" describes students who have been expelled or suspended from a university. The term became prevalent after several students said university officials had refused to register them for the new academic year, telling them that they have two or three stars. Student protestors and activists say more than 250 students have been affected thus far. The “admission committee” in charge of picking out the students who get the stars is made up agents of the ministry of intelligence and security of the Islamic regime.
