The Islamization of Iran: History & present day example

13 centuries ago (1370 years) a decisive battle took place that would be named the "Battle of Qadesiyeh". Dispatched to this battle-scene, by Sasanian Shahanshah ("King of Kings") Yazdgerd III, was Commander of the Imperial Iranian Armed Forces -Rostam Farokhzad- who gathered what is said to be 60,000 troops to the fringes of the desert south of the town "Hilla", present day Iraq, to face the Arabo-Muslim Army- which was advancing from its homeland in the Saudi Arabian deserts. By doing so he took the battle to the Arabs "own ground" - the desert environment; the decision by Shahanshah Yazdgerd III to send Commander Farokhzad to meet the Arabo-Muslim army at this location has been criticized by many. Despite reservations on the succes of such a campaign Commader Farokhzad obeyed his Commander-in-Chief's orders and was hell-bent on crushing the growing threat, to the Empire, of the vicious Bedouin tribes who where now savagely spreading their new-found faith -Islam- by the tip of their swords.

The Arabo-Muslim Army under the command of Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqqas (from the Arab Quraish tribe), was dispatched by the Caliph Omar, and consisted of some 36,000 men. The Iranian troops on the Command of the heroic Commander Farokhzad fough valiantly against this force, despite the harsh circumstance of the desert environment. The campaign was heading towards victory until the third day of war when the Arabs gained the upper hand. This was a historical defeat which would mark the end of the glory of the Persian Empire and the beginning of 291 years (from 637 A.D. to 928 A.D.) of Arabo-Muslim occupation. This savage occupation led to tens of thousands of Iranian being butchered by the Arabo-Muslim occupying forces, the destruction of centres of learning and enlightment - amongst the primary targets of the Arabo-Muslim army were LIBRARIES. The Arabo-Muslim Army burnt all the libraries existent in the Persian Empire to the ground justifying it by saying "everything which is needed to know is in the Koran" or "Taazinameh" as referred to by Iranians.

Iranians were given 3 choices by the occupational Arabo-Muslim force:

-Convert to Islam
-Continue practicing your religion but pay the price for it (heavy-tax and unbearable discrimination)
-Death

Many converted to save their lives; some could not stand the disgrace of following the ways of the Arab bedouins and their backward religion so they either paid the tax or fled the motherland; and many more died swearing never to recant their culture or beliefs.

The ensuing 300 years of Arabo-Muslim rule and extensive propaganda and drive for Islamization proved fatal for the Iranian Nation. Although Iranians were able to repel the Arabo-Muslim force from their homeland after 300 years the Islamization of society had taken such roots and that it stayed. Arabs got kicked out but Islam remained - Iranians' minds were to be enslaved by this backward ideology up until the coming of Reza Shah the Great and the establishing of the Pahlavi Dynasty (1925-1979).

This means that although the Arab occupation ended after 300 years - their detrimental ideology was able to pollute Iranian minds -unrestricted- for almost 1300 years. The coming of Reza Shah the Great ended the dominance of Islam and the Muslim clergy and restricted their powers severely. The muslim clergy had been in control of Iranian society ever since the day the Arab occupation ended. They were the ones with the real decision-making powers not the "Shah's" who were to follow. With the coming of Reza Shah they suffered a well-overdue defeat. Reza Shah was a patriot who had nothing but the betterment of his people and country. He set out to modernize Iran - and is today referred to as the father of modern Iran. His son Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Shahanshah Aryamehr, continued in his father's footsteps, although with less of an iron-fist like his father. Iran was on its way towards what the late Shah referred to as the "Golden Civilization". After almost 1400 years Iran was on its way to have fully freed itself from the left-over Arab ideology which had polluted Iranian society for far too long. There wasn't a direct campaign against Islam during the Pahlavi's as it would have been far too early for such a thing to take place but through his actions one could see the Reza Shah the Great was a not fan of this left-over Arab religion. Mohammad Reza Shah was less tough-handed than his father towards the Muslim clergy; but neither he held the Muslim clergy in great esteem. Despite this Iranians were no-where near close to be called or referred to as TRUE Muslims.

Then in 1979 disaster struck. Iran under the Pahlavi Dynasty was becoming far too strong for the liking of high-positioned politicians in Europe and America. Adding to this there was the Muslim clergy's push to regain its former power and the puppets/servants of the Soviet Union, in Iran, who sought to sell their motherland to the Soviets! A coalition between these two highly unlikely allies was formed which the late Shah of Iran referred to as the "Alliance of Red & Black" (Red symbolizing communism, and Black the Muslim Clergy/Islam).

An immense propaganda campaign ensued both from the "Alliance of Red & Black" but also from politicians in Europe and America! America who had been Iran's greatest ally since the establishment of the Pahlavi Dynasty and who had contributed a lot to the development of our country suddenly, with the coming to power of Jimmy Carter (D) , turned its back and began accusing the late Shah for gross human rights abuses! (these human rights abuses will be discussed and addressed by me in due time). The highly progressive and reformable government of Iran fell on a dark day in February when the embodiment of EVIL was flown to Iran from PARIS on a French sponsored Air France flight. Asked what his feelings where upon returning to Iran this embodiment of EVIL, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, answered "nothing".

Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's origins explain his anti-Iranian stance and hatred for Iranian culture - he was by NO MEANS an Iranian. That he came from the Kashmir region of India is pretty much an undisputable fact but there's also a nice twist to it in that his father was an Englishman (India at that time still being a colony of "Her Majesty's Government"!) turned radical muslim!

So why, you might wonder, have I written all this? Well I felt that my readers needed to have the background before they watch this clip. This clip of a brainwashed Iranian boy. A clip of a brainwashed Iranian boy praising his ancestor's killers (the bedouin Arabs of that time) and mourning these killers' deaths! With the establishment of what I refer to as the 2nd Arabo-Muslim Occupation of Iran (1979-Present) a new Islamization campaing was launched by the Mullah's and their supporters so that the new generation of Iran would become brainwashed "soldiers of their cause". In fact a "cultural revolution" was launched by the mullah's a few years after their take-over of Iran in which IRANIAN CULTURE was attacked and described as PAGAN! There was a campaing to DEMOLISH historical sites such as Persepolis - the capital of Ancient Persia and the Iranian New Year (No-Rooz) was described as pagan and efforts where made to BAN it!

A quick note i'd like to make here is that Islamization has been an issue confronting Iranians ever since the Arabo-Muslim occupation, but in a sense the Iranian Nation was lucky NOT to fall prey for ARABIZATION, which the nations of Egypt, Lebanon, and Syria (for example) did. These nation's were not only Islamized but also Arabized. Their respective cultures were replaced with Arab culture. Their religious beliefs were replaced with the Arab - Islamic - faith/ideology/culture. Their language became the Arabic language. Their people became "Arabs"...

This clip (see below) is one of the successes of this Islamization campaign that the Islamic Republic aggressively pursues. However I cannot refer to an overall success of this campaign - in fact it backfired in many ways; especially amongst the middle class (established during the Pahlavi Dynasty) and the more well-to-do, but with 60% or so living in poverty inside Iran TODAY their minds are still constricted by much of what the clergy over a span of 1400 years has brainwashed them with.

Nevertheless, the origins of Islam and Islamic scripture (koran/taazinameh) have been put into the spotlight over these past 27 years that the Islamic Republic has been occupying Iran and MANY IRANIANS have come to see the savagery, backwardedness and especially ANTI-IRANIAN ideology which Islam embodies. There were only a few people during the Pahlavi Era who had started to question the validity of Islam, today though, in the "Information Age" that we are lucky to live in much more people have access to information regarding the origins of Islam and can easily make a judgement on this ideology. The majority of Iranians inside Iran, I can say 90+% of the population with confidence, are only "Muslim" by name and ABSOLUTELY NOT in practice. The mullah's know this figure and are hell-bent on their Islamization campaign and propaganda war.

With the overwhelming majority of the Iranian Nation in opposition to this barbaric Islamic regime it is our duty as free men and women, regardless of where we might come from, to defend the oppressed Iranian people and give them support in their fight against the Mullah's dictatorship and 1400 years of ideological tyranny.

To finish this post i'd like to post this very upsetting videoclip. A videoclip that is an insult to everything an Iranian would hold dear. A videoclip of a child which Iranians FAILED.

Aryamehr Jaan - Here is a long contribution to your post. I liked it when I read it and think it serves well for history in general. With best wishes.

"Persian History in verses

The sands of time have always known
That civilization which has grown
In that plateau we call Iran
Land of the lion, land of the sun

Kourosh brought unmatched glory
Dariush's Persepolis told the lasting story
Strength came from tolerance and freedom
Justice and nobility flourished in this kingdom

The greatest empire ever seen
Their lasting legacy was unforeseen
Masters of the world
The Persians' achievements must be told

Wise words of Kourosh, baked on a cylinder of clay
Respected foreign cultures, and their right to freely pray
Women were respected, and slavery abolished
Kourosh was Great, for the human rights he polished

To conquer foreign lands requires minimal exertion
But to unite an empire, is a remarkable contention
Always building and improving, and never standing still
Dariush was Great, for his administrative skill

The Royal Road, with Sardis at the end and Shooshan at the start
Was an awe of transportation, connecting Persia's heart
Who carved the Suez Canal, giving commerce speedy wings?
King Dariush, son of Hystaspes, an Achaemenid, the King of Kings

The father, with passion and pride, passed to his son
His love of law, beauty, architecture, and care of Iran
Dariush began building, but Xashayar completed these perfections
Xashayar was great, for his magnificent creations

And what of Marathon, Thermopylae, and Salamis?
Did the Greeks truly receive such bliss?
Herodotus embellished, told lies for the West
For the Persians, these were skirmishes at best

But every golden era must someday end
So too Achaemanesh's dynasty would bend
Alexander's army won, but could not see
Win or lose, Persians' hearts always stay free

Revenge, envy, and wine made Alexander yearn
The pride of Persia, Persepolis, to burn
The labour of years, by a thousand artisans employed
Took one lunatic one night, for this jewel to be destroyed

Greatness comes, from a worthy contribution
To humanity, to art, to law, or a scientific institution
Those who burn and loot deserve our hate
So answer this, was Alexander truly Great?

Now who were the barbarians, the Persians or the Greeks?
Our lowest troughs, still higher than their highest peaks
The art of empire, the Greeks could never master
Constant feuding and civil wars, left Greece in a disaster

Parthians picked up the torch of our land
Put Iranian rule back in Iranian hand
They showed Greece and Rome, to name just two
That Iran possesses great horses, and great men too

Like a Phoenix, from the ashes rising
The Sassanians arrived, with Iran reorganizing
Power, wealth, and wisdom again flourished
The rule of Ardeshir, Shapur, and Khosro let Iran be nourished

Life was based on three simple needs
Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds
Monotheist religion, for all its evil and its good
Came from Iran, from where Zarathustra stood

Rome, for all its power and its legions
Couldn't touch Iran's vast regions
Many times Rome tried but failed
Every time cataphract armour thundered and hailed

But Sassanian wealth and beauty caught the eye
Of a desert tribe, whose religion was a lie
Like desert snakes, they ruthlessly attacked
Until beautiful Ctesiphone was sacked

Rostam-e-Farokhzad, the brave and capable general
Fought till the end, though his wounds were several
At Qaddissiya, he came to Iran's defence
Alas, the Taazi army was too dense

With coercion and the sword
Islam was able to spread its word
A dark and sinister force was born
That to this day brings Iran much scorn

Some to India had to flee
Iran's destruction was unbearable to see
Parsees, they are called to this day
Ahura Mazda, with them will always stay

But Iranian roots are strong and hard to kill
Iran was freed again, with such a thrill
The Saffarids would answer the nation's call
To make Arab tyranny shamefully fall

Don't mourn the Ashura, weep a Taazi's death
Hassan and Hossein were foreigners, who weakened Iran's breath
If mourn you must, then mourn, a national event
Like Gaugamela, or Qaddissiya, places of great lament

While Europe was stagnant in its Dark Ages
Persian scholars thrived, free from mental cages
From algebra, to astronomy, and architecture
Persians wrote the book, and gave the lecture

A time of great Persian thinkers had emerged
Where poetry and science, love and knowledge, easily verged
Saadi, Hafez, Rumi, Omar Khayam to name a few
Thanks to them, humanity exponentially grew

Arabs from time to time, try to falsely claim
These brilliant men, and their golden works of fame
Dream on, Taazi, and of this be sure:
These men were always Persian, and completely pure

Who could forget Ferdowsi, the greatest poet ever?
He gave us Sam, Zal, and Rostam, heroes both brave and clever
The Persian language, so eloquently resurrected
As The Shahnameh was written with all Arabic words neglected

Many other invaders would come again, much the same
From Genghis Khan to Teymour the Lame
They would loot, burn, and murder
The cities too proud to surrender

Though Turks and Mongols had military strength
They were lacking in cultural length
The Persian culture was too rich, to be absorbed into theirs
Instead they settled in Iran, and joined her proud heirs

It's clear from this short and simple recap
That Iran had its share of glory, as well as mishap
Our generation is unfortunate, assigned the station
Of another dark chapter, in the book of our nation

Once again Zahak is in power
His snakes consume and poison every flower
He uses religion and superstition
To enforce his selfish and malicious mission

So once more dust off the Kaviyani banner
And fly it high, in a proud and fitting manner
Zahak and his snakes will die once more
And our nation we shall yet restore

Arabs, pack your camels, and form a line
Leave this land, let the lion roar, let the sun shine
Or get thrown out, by Kaveh, and his noble flame
Return to the desert sands, from whence you came

Iran in its infancy reached the sky
Will Fravahar's wings expand, will Iran soar that high?
Just lift the veil, you'll surely see
Iran's brightest days lie ahead, when the Aryans are again free

Those who know not their history are deaf to the past, mute to the present, and blind to the future."

Don't forget to mention that bastard traitor Solomon as well. Without him and his Persian upbringing and education, Islam would have never had a chance. That bastard had sealed our fate. He gave them all the information they needed to know on the weakpoints on city entries and engineering tips like that famous moat they built. We seemingly are never dominated by powers equal to us in stature, i.e. Roman Empire, Chinese Empire, Ottoman Empire, but rather underdogs; Greeks, Arabs, and Mongols. And it always either had to do with being betrayed, or underestimating and discoutning our adversaries as unworthy; a combination of arrogance and betrayal, we lose not because the enemy is too powerful, because they usually aren't, we lose because we think we can't. (Alexander threatened to kill villagers who didnt give information about Darius and the Royal Court, Mongols invaded only after Iranians insulted Ghengis Kahan (who never wanted to invade in the first place) and Arabs, who by disregarding as "desert barbarians" and recieving help from Solomon, managed to all strip out beautiful land piece by piece and send us farther into the darknesss. If anything, we need to learn from history. This is a fatal tragedy of ours.

Anon, thanks for the poem. I've read it before.

Arian, I think you mean Salman Farsi instead of "Solomon", unless that's another name for him.

aryamehr and arian - Salman was an "Isfahani", Solomon must have had an accent......Apologies for being crude.

aryamehr, glad you heard the poem before. Any reason why you didn't post it before?

arian,

About last post in here from me:

You are right, we never seem to look under our noses for smaller things. I said before in here that those who we trust or deem irrelevant are those who can and most often betray us the most.

Hope we are wiser and smarter now. The little people should not be underestimated, nor should we dismiss the big people.

Dear ANON, I don't know whether Salman was Esfehani or not but i'll take your word for it - not that it matters because in the end he was a TRAITOR from WITHIN.

As for the poem there's a lot of material i'd like to post, I just don't get the time or I don't want it to get too clogged up in here! ;)

aryamehr, LOL, I know what you mean by being clogged up and all... my nose is clogged up in a major way. So are Enemies from Within! *just kidding* and I was with "Isfahani or even Esfehani" too!

Arian said...

btw...i was referring to Salman Farsi...but Westerners also spell it Solomon...becuase they're Westerners lol. (the best is how they took "Khashaie-yar-Shah" and came up with "Xerxes". Classic.

Arian said...

you know...no actually my mistake...there is no variation in spelling...its "Salman", not Solomon. i thought they could be used interchangeably but i was wrong.

On a day just like this,
With the sun burning high,
A man fell from his ladder and croaked,

On the slab they declared,
While his offals they probed,
He is dead, said that man in the hospital robe.

And his widow, black-veiled,
She started to wail, inconsolable beyond return.

While a liar did come, to read all of his psalms,
About places made up from thin air.
But I’ll say this is it, for who’ll give a shit
For beyond waits the carnivorous worm.

Oh, you cavernous earth,
We have deemed you our home.
We’ve polluted you, and it’s our fault.

But you’ve had your revenge,
When we go, it’s your pledge
To sharpen your fangs,
On our carcass, ere long,
We are rotten and eaten by you,
Till we’re gone.

But have fun, while you can,
For indeed, it’s your right,
Out of you we sprang forth all along,
When I die, I’ll torment,
Your insatiable hunger,
Go forth and lament.

This I’ll say;
Cry forth foul! Dire!
Whence from you I do flee,
Burned to ash by your rival named; Fire.

Oh, Ormazd.
Oh, Ahriman,
Ahuramazda ,
Angra Mainyu.

The muslims chased you from your land,
Oh, noble Parsees by your Fire stand.
I’ll hold my spear, within my hand.
As we together join the past,
King Darius smiles on his war-band.

Truth from knowledge rightly leads,
While with Justice mixed,
Onto noble thoughts and deeds,
Through Creation's seeds.

Onto men that know their past,
Pride does shine it's flame,
Guiding minds onto what's right,
In Ormazd's great name.

Nature does hold all the answers,
While the Prophets lie,
It is there to glance and wonder,
There to hold up high,

While the Muslims, Christians, Jews
Try hard to supress,
On the Eastern Zagros Mountains
Truth may yet progess.

Although still enslaved in cages
Gone are now the days
Man of virtue, Zarathurshtra
Shines forth through the haze.

While the Muslim throws Iran,
Into his vile maze,
Through the fire of desire,
Truth shall free her slaves.

And while this proud revelation,
Holds for Persia true.
Through the ashes of lost knowledge
Oh my Dacia, proud Zalmoxis
I shall find my way to you.

All of the Poems which I've posted were composed and written by me. The last one was written on the spot, inspired by the sight of the picture of the Islamists on the cover of that book.

Great post. The Islamic occupation forces who victimized Iran for centuries are the same forces who fight a genocidal war of extermination against Israel and the Jews. At least they have the same perverted and genocidal pirated mentality.
